The Edmonton Oilers won't be waiting long to see their new starting goaltender between the pipes.
Tristan Jarry will start on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Sportsnet's Luke Fox reported.
Edmonton acquired Jarry and forward Sam Poulin from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday in exchange for goaltender Stuart Skinner, defenceman Brett Kulak, and a 2029 second-round pick.
"Kind of a whirlwind. Just a lot of emotions. Playing in Pittsburgh for a long time, I'm very grateful for my time there, it's unbelievable. I couldn't have asked for anything better," Jarry said Saturday.
"But just being able to hear that it was to the Oilers, it's very exciting. They obviously have a very good opportunity here and to be a part of that is going to be special."
Jarry is 9-3-1 with a 2.66 goals-against and a .909 save percentage this season. In 307 career appearances, Jarry has a 161-100-32 record with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
The Oilers and Maple Leafs clash on Hockey Night in Canada on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
